Advisories to Fishing in the Hoosic

  • Hoosic River, from the channelized section in North Adams to the MA/VT state line: PCBs Do not eat any fish

A note about swimming in the Hoosic: People swim at their own risk in the Hoosic River. HooRWA can not advise people on swimming health. Boards of health determine that. HooRWA’s goal is a fishable & swimmable river.

Paddling between North Adams and Pownal is usuallly safest when the Williamstown gauge reads 200cfs - 700cfs.
