The Hoosic River Watershed Association (HooRWA) is pleased to announce Arianna Alexsandra Collins as its next Executive Director. Arianna is an environmental education professional from Ashfield, Massachusetts, with 20 years of experience in program development, administration, and coordination, public relations and community engagement, budget administration, and fund raising. Arianna has a master’s degree in Environmental Administration from Antioch University New England.
About her new position Collins said, “As a lover and resident of the Deerfield and Connecticut River watersheds I am excited to adopt and be adopted by the Hoosic River watershed. I look forward to immersing myself in HooRWA and getting to know the specific flora, fauna, and human culture of the Hoosic.” Ms. Collins replaces Steve McMahon, who is retiring after 10 years with HooRWA.
Board President Andy Kawczak remarked, “Steve has more than effectively guided HooRWA for the last decade and has contributed greatly to HooRWA’s success as a watershed protection and advocacy organization. The Board of Directors is pleased to continue its strong community leadership in the hiring of Arianna Collins.”
The Hoosic River Watershed Association is a membership organization, dedicated to the conservation, habitat restoration and enjoyment of the Hoosic River and its watershed through education, research and advocacy.
