RiverFest

RiverFest 2024

Join HooRWA & Trout Unlimited Taconic Chapter on Saturday, August 17, 11am-2pm for RiverFest!

Celebrate and get to know the species who live in the River. Attend a workshop on fly tying, fly casting, macroinvertebrates, wild edible plants. Participate in a River-inspired Poetry Share (bring your poems) and a sing along. See demos on water quality monitoring. Bring a picnic blanket or chair and sit for a spell along the River or by the pond. Remember your water bottle.

This event is free and open to the public.

Schedule

  • Guided Bird Walk with Hoffmann Bird Club 7:00-8:00am – meet in the big parking lot.
  • Workshops & Demos 11:00am-1:30pm

We’ve got you covered from in to out: Food truck vendors Krispy Cones Ice Cream & Junior’s, Second Chance Composting and A1 Septic. Special thanks to the Town of Williamstown for attending to trash and recycling.

Tablers include: HooRWA, Trout Unlimited Taconic Chapter, Hoosic River Revival, Hoffmann Bird Club, Bee Friendly Williamstown, and Second Chance Composting. We will also have a free literature table with materials from Stockbridge-Munsee Community Band of Mohican Indians, Sonrisas, Offerings for Community Building, and Wild Soul River.
